1) Mia Mckenna-Bruce winning raising star. She was amazing in How to have Sex, a very female-gazey movie about teenage-girlhood by Molly Manning Walker. She highly deserved this award !
2) Emma Stone winning leading actress for her amazing performance in Poor Things. Fingers crossed for the Oscars !
3) Da’vine Joy Randolphe winning best supporting actress for her role in The Holdovers in which she is amazingly soul-stirring. I also very much loved her part in Only Murders in the Building in which she plays a very funny police officer. I wish her more and more roles for the future !
4) Best original screenplay for Anatomy of a Fall, another win for Justine Triet. I’m quite happy that the director that the French government don’t really appreciate for her festival de Cannes speech against Macron’s policies is making her way through all of these awards ceremonies and keeps winning !
5) Best sound for The Zone Of Interest because we can hear noises coming from the extermination camp, and so feeling its presence during the whole movie without seeing it. I think that it’s a great asset of the movie .
6) And of course, best costume design, make up and hair for Poor Things. These are one of the things that created this movie’s amazing aesthetic, which is the only aspect appreciated by both Poor Things haters and lovers.
7) I’m nevertheless very disappointed that Past Lives didn’t receive any awards. It is a beautiful movie that, to me, deserved more recognition.
8) More that Oppenheimer that won seven award, including best film, actor and director. Awards that Nolan’s movie do not need in order to be legitimated and that could’ve been given to more deserving movies like Past Lives or All of Us strangers.
I MEAN SOMEONE GIVE ANDERW SCOTT BEST ACTOR PLEASE ???
